Additional District Magistrate Ferozepur Nidhi Kumud Bambah, PCS, stated that under the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act 2012, through the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Rules, 2013, the licenses of 06 firms engaged in the business of consultancy / coaching for IELTS/ travel agency/ ticketing agent / general sales agents etc. have been suspended after the expiry of their license period.
The Additional District Magistrate stated that the firms whose licenses have been suspended include Kannan Tour and Travels, Ferozepur City; Eco Global Immigration Consultant, Ferozepur City; Abroad Masters, in front of City Police Station, Ferozepur City; Arjun Immigration and Education Services Private Limited, Ferozepur City; Better World Immigration and Visa Consultant, Ferozepur Cantt; Gradico Consultants, near Dev Samaj College, Ferozepur City.
The aforesaid license holders were written to deposit an undertaking at the office of the District Magistrate two months prior to the expiry of the license to renew the license, but despite the expiry of the license period, neither any undertaking has been submitted to this office for renewal of the license nor has the license been surrendered. By doing so, these license holders have violated Section 5(2) of the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Rules 2013 framed under the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act 2012 (named as Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act). Therefore, the licenses of these license holders are suspended with immediate effect, keeping in view the instructions mentioned in Section 6(e) of the said Act.
The Additional District Magistrate has directed these license holders to submit their reply within 07 days from the issuance of the notice. In case no reply is received within the stipulated time, it will be presumed that you have nothing to say and ex-parte proceedings will be initiated to cancel the license.
