Inaugurates newly upgraded Tehsil, Sulah Assembly

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today dedicated development projects worth Rs. 76.41 crore to the Sulah Assembly Constituency in Kangra district, marking a significant push towards strengthening public infrastructure and essential services in the region. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly upgraded Tehsil, Sulah, during his one-day tour of the constituency.

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 14 development projects covering key sectors including roads, bridges, healthcare, education, veterinary services and drinking water supply. These initiatives are aimed at improving connectivity, expanding health facilities and ensuring access to basic amenities for people living in rural and semi-urban areas of Sulah Assembly.

Among the major projects inaugurated were the double-lane bridge across Moal Khad on the Hamirpur–Sujanpur–Thural–Maranda road constructed at a cost of Rs. 12.57 crore and another bridge over Moal Khad on the Malag–Malaha link road built with an outlay of Rs. 3.57 crore. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the combined office building at Dheera constructed at a cost of Rs. 10.82 crore.

Strengthening healthcare infrastructure, he dedicated the Community Health Centre building at Dheera built at a cost of Rs. 5.02 crore, along with Health Sub-Centre buildings at Kharul, Bhoda and Kona. Veterinary infrastructure was also enhanced with the inauguration of the Veterinary Hospital building at Sulah and a Veterinary Dispensary building at Moondhi.

In the education sector, the Chief Minister inaugurated additional accommodation at Government High School, Bhattu Samula, and dedicated major drinking water supply schemes including the improvement of the distribution system of WSS Jharet Rajhoon and WSS Prour Kharot. He also dedicated the Rs. 31.69 crore Parour and multi-village group piped water supply scheme benefiting parts of Bhawarna, Bhedu Mahadev Block and Ghaloon (Malnoon).

Foundation stones were also laid for a bridge over Moul Khad on the Gallu Bhoda–Shivnagar road and for an additional complex of Chaudhary Tara Chand Government Senior Secondary School, Gaggal.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was committed to balanced and inclusive development, ensuring that rural and remote areas receive quality infrastructure and public services. He added that these projects would improve quality of life, generate employment and accelerate overall development in the Sulah Assembly Constituency.
