Punjab Police has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and secure proceedings for the upcoming grand event commemorating the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25, 2025.
DGP Gaurav Yadav Reviews Preparations
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, visited Sri Anandpur Sahib on Tuesday to review security, facilitation, and traffic management arrangements. He was accompanied by Special DGPs Arpit Shukla (Law and Order) and Praveen Sinha (Intelligence).
DGP Yadav emphasized that all officers must uphold professionalism, commitment, and empathy while managing massive crowds expected to attend from across the world.
Over 8000 Police Personnel Deployed
A force of more than 8,000 police personnel, supervised by senior officers, will be stationed across the town. The entire area has been divided into 25 sectors, each having its own sub-control room and help desk for smooth management.
High-Tech Security Monitoring
Security measures are reinforced with cutting-edge technologies including Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), PTZ, and facial recognition cameras at all entry and exit points. Surveillance drones and a high-tech control room have been established to ensure continuous monitoring.
Seamless Traffic and Shuttle Services
In partnership with IIT Ropar, the police have implemented real-time digital mapping of parking zones based on live occupancy. Shuttle bus services will operate 24×7 between venues and tent cities to ease movement of devotees. Smart barricading systems are also being deployed to regulate crowd flow.
Enhanced Facilitation and Medical Support
Technology-enabled systems such as help desks, real-time dashboards, and public convenience facilities are in place. Medical teams, Mohalla Clinics, and referral hospitals are fully prepared for emergency response.
Emphasis on Respect and Sensitivity
DGP Yadav directed officers to perform their duties with humility and respect, ensuring the sanctity of the occasion is maintained. He also inaugurated new police infrastructure including an auditorium and renovated GO Mess at Ropar Police Lines and Police Station Singh Bhagwantpur.
Senior officers including ADGP SS Parmar, ADGP Naunihal Singh, IG S Boopathi, DIGs Naveen Singla and Nanak Singh, DC Rupnagar Varjeet Walia, SSP Gulneet Khurana, and Staff Officer to DGP Darpan Ahluwalia attended the review.
