Himachal Shines at the 8th Inter-State and 45th Junior National Rowing Championship Held in Bhopal

Athletes from the Water Sports Centre located in Barmana delivered an outstanding performance at the 8th Inter-State and 45th Junior National Rowing Championship organized in Bhopal from November 26 to 30, 2025, bringing notable success to Himachal Pradesh. Their achievement not only highlights the state’s growing potential in sports but also reinforces its emerging dominance in water sports.
Ekampreet Kaur displayed determination and exceptional skill by winning a bronze medal in the Senior Women’s Single Scull (1x) event.
Additionally, the team of Aradhana, Navya (Kinnaur), Sakshi Devi and Shreya Chandel (Bilaspur) made the state proud by winning the silver medal in the Senior Women’s Coxless Four (4-) category, showcasing strong performance and excellent teamwork.
The duo Priyata (Bilaspur) and Namrata (Kinnaur) secured the fourth position in the fiercely contested Senior Women’s Pair (2) event.
Athletes who received initial training at the Barmana Centre and are now getting trained at NCOE Alleppey have also performed remarkably well. Neha (Kullu) clinched a silver medal in the Single Scull (1x) category, while Palak Joktta (Rampur) secured the fourth position in the same event.
Team coach Sanjeev Singh lauded the hard work, commitment and performance of the players, stating that these achievements are the result of the centre’s growing strength and quality training.
On this occasion, Vijay Negi, in-charge of SAI STC Bilaspur and SAI Extension Water Sports Centre Barmana, Himachal Pradesh, congratulated the athletes and said, “These achievements are a matter of pride not only for us but for the entire state. Our players are consistently making their mark on the national stage, and in the future, they will represent Himachal at the international level as well.”
