The Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission held a hearing on the murder and atrocity case involving a Scheduled Caste woman in the Sainj area.
Commission Chairman Kuldeep Dhimaan said there was negligence and attempts to suppress facts in the initial probe.
The commission ordered the suspension of the then SHO of the concerned police station and recommended departmental inquiries against the former SP and DSP. It directed immediate release of the stipulated assistance amount to the victim’s family. Dhimaan emphasized that strict action will be taken against any guilty party, regardless of their position.
The commission conducted detailed discussions with the victim’s family, gram panchayat representatives, and former officials. An SIT, formed under village pressure, arrested four accused individuals. The commission remains committed to protecting the constitutional rights of the Scheduled Caste community.Chie f Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s government will take firm steps to eradicate atrocities against Scheduled Castes and other backward classes.
