Dense fog will continue to engulf all districts of Punjab today (Wednesday), with cold wave conditions in several districts. Bathinda remained the coldest on Tuesday at 4.2 Degree Celsius.
Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for some areas and a yellow alert for others. In terms of temperature, Punjab has recorded a drop of -2°C, which is -3°C below the normal temperature. In Faridkot, the maximum temperature was recorded at 19.2°C.
This City Remained Coldest
There has been decline in minimum temperatures across the state. A drop of -0.8°C was recorded, which is close to the normal temperature. In Bathinda, the minimum temperature was 4.2°C, making it the coldest city in the state.
These Areas Are Under Orange Alert
Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert today (Wednesday) in several districts of Punjab due to cold wave conditions. The alert applies to Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and Fazilka, where cold winds are expected.
Also a yellow alert has been sounded for remaining districts of Punjab due to dense fog and cold wave conditions.
What will the weather be like for the next 3 days?
On January 8 (Thursday), dense to very dense fog is likely to occur at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala, Mansa, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and Malerkotla.
In Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, and Patiala, dense to very dense fog is also expected at different places.
On January 9 (Friday), dense to very dense fog is likely in various parts of Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Ferozepur, Barnala, Fazilka, and Muktsar. The weather is expected to remain dry otherwise.
On January 10 (Saturday), dense fog is likely to prevail in several areas of Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur, Ferozepur, Barnala, Fazilka, and Muktsar. Overall weather is expected to remain dry. No alert has been issued regarding rainfall.
