Army, Himachal and Ayurvedic Giant Sign Pact to Grow Medicinal Plants in Remote Border Villages

A tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed today in the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu between the Indian Army, the Government of Himachal Pradesh, and Shree Baidyanath Ayurved, Jhansi to promote large-scale cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants in selected border and remote villages.

The Chief Minister described the initiative as a key step to revive traditional ayurvedic practices while ensuring sustainable livelihoods for border villagers.

Under the agreement, signed by Col. T.S.K Singh for the Indian Army, Director Ayush Rohit Jamwal for the state government, and Shailesh Sharma for Shree Baidyanath Ayurved, the Ayush Department will provide technical know-how and training on cultivation aspects. The company commits to assured procurement at fixed prices and supply of high-quality seeds or saplings. The Indian Army will conduct training and technical sessions for farmers.

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, Secretary Ayush Priyanka Basu, Lt. General D.G. Mishra, Brigadier Anurag Pandey, and senior officers from the state government and Indian Army attended the event.
