12th Pass Candidates Can Apply Till August 6

The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has invited online applications for 734 constable vacancies in the Himachal Pradesh Police, offering a major employment opportunity for eligible youth across the state.
According to the official notification, the recruitment drive includes 491 vacancies for male candidates and 243 for female candidates. The online application process commenced on July 10 and will remain open until August 6, 2026. Selected candidates will be placed under the Level-3 pay scale, with a salary ranging from ₹20,200 to ₹64,000.
Applicants must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognised educational institution. As per the recruitment rules, the prescribed educational qualification should generally be obtained from a recognised school or institution in Himachal Pradesh. However, bonafide Himachali candidates are exempt from this condition. The age of applicants will be calculated as on January 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to the General and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories must be between 18 and 25 years of age, while candidates from the SC, ST and OBC categories are eligible up to 27 years of age. Home Guard candidates can apply up to the maximum age limit of 28 years. Applications will be accepted only through the online mode, and the application portal will automatically close after the stipulated deadline.
The recruitment process also prescribes physical standards for candidates. Male candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories must have a minimum height of 5 feet 6 inches, while those from the SC and ST categories must have a minimum height of 5 feet 4 inches. The prescribed chest measurement is 31–32 inches for General and OBC candidates and 29–30 inches for SC and ST candidates. For female candidates, the minimum height requirement is 5 feet 2 inches for General and OBC categories, while candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories must have a minimum height of 5 feet.
The recruitment drive comes after a long wait for aspiring candidates in the state, with thousands of youth expected to compete for the vacancies. Authorities have advised applicants to complete the online registration well before the deadline and carefully follow all eligibility and recruitment guidelines.
