Himachal Pradesh has received PMGSY-IV approval, with rural road projects worth ₹2,247.24 crore cleared for implementation during 2025–26, Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said today.
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that the PMGSY-IV approval Himachal has been granted by the Government of India for projects proposed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-IV (Batch-I). The proposals were examined by the Empowered Committee in its meeting held on 4 November 2025 and approved after the State Government submitted its compliance report.
₹2,247 crore rural road package
A total of 294 rural road works, covering 1,538.058 kilometres, have been approved at a total cost of ₹2,247.24 crore. Of this, ₹2,019.70 crore will be funded by the Ministry of Rural Development, while the State Government will contribute ₹227.54 crore, including higher specification costs.
The average cost per kilometre has been fixed at ₹146.11 lakh, the Minister said.
Providing district-wise details, he said that four roads were approved for Bilaspur, 65 for Chamba, two for Hamirpur, 12 for Kangra, eight for Kinnaur, 65 for Kullu, two for Lahaul & Spiti, 23 for Mandi, 97 for Shimla, 11 for Sirmaur, three for Solan and two for Una district.
Connectivity boost in rural Himachal
The Minister said that the PMGSY-IV approval Himachal would significantly improve connectivity in rural and remote areas, ensuring better access to healthcare, education, markets and emergency services.
He added that the projects would strengthen rural infrastructure, improve disaster resilience and provide safe, all-weather road connectivity across the State.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Government, Vikramaditya Singh said that the approval reflects the State Government’s commitment to inclusive development and balanced growth across Himachal Pradesh.
