Amritsar, 5 Jan
Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the top Sikh authority, has summoned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to appear in person on January 15, 2026, for clarifications.
Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargajj announced this during a press conference in Amritsar today on January 5, 2026. He said that the summons dwell the CM’s repeated statements that hurt Sikh feelings. These include remarks against Daswandh and Guru Ki Golak principles, plus actions seen as disrespectful to images of Sikh Gurus and martyr Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale.
The Jathedar said that these statements were examples of the CM’s “political arrogance” from his high office. Sikh tradition warns that ignoring Akal Takht orders can bring serious religious penalties. The community watches closely to see if the CM will follow the directive.
