MRSAFPI Mohali Creates Record with 50 Cadets Training at NDA

181 Aumni cCommissioned as Defence Officers so far; Aman Arora Lauds Institute’s Performance

The Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali) has achieved another significant milestone, with as many as 50 of its cadets currently undergoing training at the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA). This is the highest number of cadets from the institute at the NDA since its inception.

The achievement places MRSAFPI’s NDA cadet strength second only to the historic Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), reaffirming the institute’s growing stature as a leading grooming ground for future Armed Forces officers. Remarkably, three of its alumni are now serving as NDA instructors, mentoring the next generation of Indian military leaders.

Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr. Aman Arora congratulated the institute’s management and training staff for their outstanding efforts. He said the consistent success of MRSAFPI highlights Punjab’s commitment to nurturing disciplined and patriotic youth and urged the staff to continue their pursuit of excellence.Giving details of the institute’s achievements, the Minister shared that 278 cadets have joined various Service Training Academies since MRSAFPI was established, while 181 alumni have already been commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces.

He further informed that seven cadets will pass out from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Air Force Academy (AFA) on December 13, 2025, and 15 more are set to join the NDA and other academies later this month.

MRSAFPI Director Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd) said admissions for the 16th Course are currently open. Punjab-domiciled male students studying in Class 10 who aspire to join the NDA through MRSAFPI can apply online till December 15, 2025, at https://recruitment-portal.in. The entrance examination will be held on January 4, 2026 (Sunday).
