CM showcasesT Punjab As Global Industrial Hub During South Korea Visit

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday called upon the Punjabi diaspora in Seoul to act as brand ambassadors of their homeland and inspire Korean companies to invest in Punjab, which he described as one of the world’s most preferred investment destinations.

Addressing an interactive session with the vibrant Punjabi community in South Korea, the Chief Minister said that the state’s industry-friendly policies have already been attracting major investors and urged overseas Punjabis to strengthen this momentum. “A Punjabi is a born entrepreneur. Now is the time to give back to our motherland by helping it scale new heights of industrial growth,” the Chief Minister said.
Mann informed the gathering that the state government is committed to creating a conducive environment for industries, which will, in turn, open new avenues of employment for youth and give a major push to the vision of building a Rangla Punjab. Commending the diaspora for their entrepreneurial spirit and cultural roots, he said Punjabis have earned global recognition through their innovation, hard work, and energy.
The Chief Minister also urged the community to guide Korean companies exploring investment in India and assured them of Punjab’s readiness to facilitate such partnerships. Highlighting the state’s modernized infrastructure and business reforms, he mentioned initiatives like the FastTrack Punjab single-window system offering 173 services, auto-deemed approvals, PAN-based business identifiers, and amendments under the Punjab Right to Business Act for time-bound approvals.Mann noted that over ₹1.4 lakh crore worth of investments have already been facilitated through Invest Punjab, reflecting growing investor confidence.
“Our vision is to make Punjab the most preferred global industrial destination by ensuring stable policies, fast decisions, and a governance system that values investors’ time and trust,” he added.Members of the Punjabi diaspora extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister, expressing optimism that the visit would deepen Punjab–South Korea relations in industrial, technological, and cultural sectors.
They also shared efforts to promote Punjabi language, culture, and cuisine among Koreans.Earlier, the Chief Minister met India’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Gourangalal Das, during which he outlined Punjab’s focus areas for collaboration — including food processing, agri-tech, renewable energy, manufacturing, defence, aerospace, and urban infrastructure. Mann’s South Korea outreach follows his successful investment promotion visit to Japan.
