Chandigarh To Get New DC Office Complex

UT Gears Up For A Citizen-first Transformation

Chandigarh, December 24

The Chandigarh UT Administration today reviewed the progress and planning of the proposed Integrated Deputy Commissioner Office Complex in Sector-17, Chandigarh, during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav, where final plans, layouts, and timelines for the landmark project were discussed.

The Chandigarh Administration has finalized the detailed layout and vertical zoning plan for the upcoming complex at Plot No. 16, Jan Marg, Sector-17. Designed as a modern, citizen-centric facility, the complex aims to bring multiple government departments under one roof to make service delivery faster, more convenient, and transparent. The building will have designated spaces for high public-dealing offices, administrative departments, and essential technical services—ensuring functional segregation and operational efficiency.

While the lower levels will primarily serve public-facing operations and essential services such as parking, waiting areas, and key offices, the upper levels will accommodate administrative, departmental, and technical units, providing an integrated and digitally enabled working environment. The structure will be equipped with modern safety, ventilation, fire control, and energy-efficient systems and will adhere to the highest standards of sustainability and accessibility.

Speaking after the meeting, DC Nishant Yadav said that the new complex will redefine citizen service delivery in Chandigarh by creating a people-friendly, efficient, and transparent administrative ecosystem.
