Shimla, January 8
Himachal Pradesh Government has eased the payment process for apple growers under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) for the 2025 season, simplifying documentation requirements to ensure a transparent and time-bound disbursal of payments.
Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi announced the decision after a meeting with a delegation of the Orchardists’ Association, led by its president Harish Chauhan. The delegation raised issues related to the payment mechanism under the Apple MIS Season-2025.
Negi said that the State Government has issued a revised notification amending the guidelines for cash and kind payments based on fruit receipts issued by the HPMC during the current MIS season. As per the revised rules, revenue records (Khata-Khatouni) will now be required only from orchardists possessing fruit receipts exceeding 100 bags of apples, while existing rules will continue for all other categories.
“This step aims to facilitate orchardists by reducing unnecessary paperwork while ensuring that the payment system remains transparent and efficient,” the Minister said, adding that the government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of apple growers and streamlining administrative processes.
