HRSC Disposes Case Related To Dr. Ambedkar Meritorious Students Scheme

Commission has directed that compensation of ₹5,000 be provided to the applicant

After going through the facts and records of a case related to the Dr. Ambedkar Meritorious Student Scheme, the Haryana Right to Service Commission has disposed the case.

A spokesperson from commission stated that it was brought Commission’s notice that an application submitted under scheme by a student named Tina from Bhiwani, required reconsideration. Tina claimed to have secured secured 82.4 percent marks in accordance with CBSE guidelines and fulfilled the eligibility criteria of the scheme.

In compliance with the Commission’s directions, department had deposited prescribed scholarship amount of ₹8,000 into the applicant’s account within the stipulated time. The Commission also observed that during the processing of the case, the applicant had to make additional efforts by filing appeals and seeking revision.

Exercising the powers conferred under the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014, and considering the overall facts of the case, the Commission has directed that compensation of ₹5,000 be provided to the applicant, with the objective of further strengthening the timely delivery of services in the future.

The Commission has directed the concerned department to complete all necessary formalities within the prescribed time frame, ensure payment, and submit compliance information to the Commission. This decision is a positive step towards making administrative processes more effective and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes in a timely manner.
