SARAHAN, India, Feb 14 – Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday unveiled a development package worth approximately Rs. 32 crore for the Pachhad assembly segment, targeting critical gaps in administrative infrastructure and rural connectivity.

During a whirlwind tour of Sarahan in the Sirmaur district, Sukhu inaugurated five completed projects and laid the foundation stones for two major infrastructure works, signaling a push for decentralised governance in the state’s hilly terrains.

Infrastructure Push in Sirmaur

The Chief Minister dedicated a new sub-tehsil building at Nohri, constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.98 crore, aimed at bringing revenue services closer to the doorstep of rural residents. In a move to strengthen the legal and administrative framework in the region, he also inaugurated a Rs. 1.44 crore residential-cum-office complex for the Assistant District Attorney at Rajgarh.

Connectivity remained a central theme of the visit. Sukhu opened three key road projects, including the Thani Thamani Kharimu road, built with an investment of Rs. 5.74 crore, and the Lana Bhalta Loh water supply scheme.

Bridging the Giri River

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for a significant motorable bridge over the Giri River, connecting Chabyoga to Salamu. The project, estimated at Rs. 14.13 crore, is expected to provide all-weather access to several remote pockets in district Sirmaur, which currently face isolation during the monsoon season.

“Our government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in the queue,” Sukhu said, addressing a gathering. He emphasized that the focus remains on “balanced growth” across all assembly segments, regardless of their proximity to the state capital.
