Chandigarh, Jan 17
A review meeting of the NAKSHA Pilot Project took place on Saturday under the chairmanship of Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh, to evaluate the progress of field survey and ground-truthing activities.
The session drew participation from the Additional Deputy Commissioner, officials from the Survey of India, representatives of NIC, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC), NPMU Delhi, and MPSEDC, Bhopal (via video conferencing).
Officials reported that Sectors 2 to 17 encompass approximately 7,000 properties, including residential and commercial units. Of these, field teams have physically visited around 4,500 for ground truthing and verification. Currently, about 20 field teams conduct daily surveys. Despite challenging weather, they are advancing steadily, with completion anticipated by January 31, 2026.
Yadav commended the involved departments and agencies, stressing the pilot’s role in establishing accurate property records. He urged timely completion.
The Chandigarh Administration called on residents and property owners to fully cooperate with survey teams by supplying ownership and record details as needed, ensuring smooth progress within the deadline.
Authorities reaffirmed their dedication to transparent, technology-driven governance, guaranteeing that NAKSHA data will serve official purposes only, as per established norms.
