Governor Lauds Children’s Film ‘Crossings’ for Promoting Climate Awareness

Shimla, December 15 Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla lauded the children’s film “Crossings” for its effective portrayal of climate change and environmental protection themes. After watching the film at Lok Bhavan on Monday, the Governor praised its message aimed at sensitizing young viewers about the importance of preserving nature.

Directed by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Mohan, “Crossings” highlights how human actions can trigger natural disasters and emphasizes the need to safeguard the environment for future generations. The Governor commended Mohan for delivering a “sensitive and impactful” message through the film and said such creative efforts are vital to inculcate environmental awareness among children.

Vivek Mohan, a native of Shimla, shared that “Crossings” is inspired by two real-life incidents dealing with issues of global warming and climate change. The short film extends the theme of his earlier work, “For Whom the Jingle Bells Toll,” carrying forward the message that “the Earth is not inherited from our ancestors, but borrowed from our children.”

Appreciating the film’s theme and execution, Governor Shukla said that Himachal Pradesh’s natural beauty is a legacy that must be protected. He emphasized that public awareness through art and cinema plays a meaningful role in promoting environmental protection and should be encouraged.
