Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has successfully launched its new electricity billing system, marking the completion of its transition from the SAP platform to an advanced Oracle-based software. With this upgrade, electricity billing services across Punjab have fully resumed after a brief disruption during the data migration phase last month.
Officials said the shift was undertaken to enhance billing accuracy, system stability and consumer service delivery. As part of the transition, all electricity consumers have been allotted new account numbers, replacing the earlier SAP-based consumer numbers.
New account numbers mandatory for bill payments
PSPCL has clarified that the newly generated account numbers will now be mandatory for electricity bill payments, service requests and all future consumer-related queries. Consumers have been advised to carefully note and use the updated account number to avoid inconvenience.
How consumers can check their new PSPCL account number
To ensure transparency and ease of access, PSPCL has provided an online facility for consumers to check their new account numbers. Consumers can visit the official PSPCL portal at:

The utility said the process is simple and citizen-friendly, allowing users to retrieve updated details using existing information.
Why PSPCL shifted to a new billing platform
According to officials, the Oracle-based billing system is expected to improve data security, billing efficiency and grievance redressal while supporting future digital upgrades. The new system aligns with PSPCL’s broader push towards technology-driven, consumer-centric power services.
PSPCL has appealed to consumers to update their records at the earliest and assured that customer support teams are available for assistance during the transition period.
