Punjab Attracts ₹500 Cr R&D Investment From Amber Group at Rajpura

Project to Create 1,000 High-End Jobs in Advanced HVAC Design and Engineering

Chandigarh, Dec 18

Punjab has added another milestone to its industrial growth story, with Amber Group of Industries announcing an investment of ₹500 crore to set up a state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) Centre at Rajpura. The project is expected to generate around 1,000 high-value jobs in advanced HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) design, engineering, and testing.

Welcoming the investment, Punjab’s Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power and NRI Affairs, Sanjeev Arora, said the decision by Amber Group is a testament to the state’s progressive industrial policies and skilled workforce.

“Amber Group’s R&D Centre at Rajpura with an investment of ₹500 crore is a strong endorsement of Punjab’s investor-friendly ecosystem. This project will create around 1,000 high-quality jobs and strengthen Punjab’s position in advanced engineering and product design,” Arora said.

The new R&D facility will focus on designing, validation, and testing of next-generation HVAC products for domestic and export markets—aligning with Punjab’s vision of becoming a hub for innovation-led manufacturing and global exports.

Amber Group of Industries, a leading diversified manufacturing conglomerate, operates 33 manufacturing facilities and 12 sales offices in India and overseas. With an annual revenue of around ₹10,000 crore and a market capitalization of about ₹27,000 crore, the Group is active across sectors including PCBs, air conditioning systems, power electronics, defence, railways, and precision cooling solutions.

Jasbir Singh, CEO of Amber Enterprises India Ltd., said Punjab offers the right mix of talent, infrastructure, and responsive governance for innovation-led growth. “Our decision to expand our R&D footprint at Rajpura underscores our long-term commitment to India’s innovation ecosystem. The upcoming Centre will play a key role in developing advanced HVAC solutions for global markets while creating 1,000 high-value technical jobs,” he said.

Amber Group already operates a sheet metal manufacturing facility and an existing R&D Centre in Rajpura. The upcoming facility, to be developed in two phases, will further expand the company’s innovation capabilities in the state.

Minister Arora noted that Amber Group provides components and air conditioning solutions to several global brands, including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Hitachi, Fujitsu General, LG, Samsung, Voltas, and Godrej—highlighting Punjab’s growing integration with global value chains.

“Such investments reinforce confidence in Punjab as a reliable partner for global OEMs and demonstrate the success of our continuous reforms focused on ease of doing business, fast approvals, and investor facilitation,” Arora said. He added that the state government will continue to extend full support to Amber Group and other investors through proactive facilitation, infrastructure upgrades, and policy stability.
