In a significant breakthrough, SAS Nagar Police have arrested two accused in connection with the murder of Gurvinder Singh, who was shot dead outside the Mohali District Courts Complex last month. The vehicles used in the crime have also been recovered, police officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) SAS Nagar Harmandeep Hans said the arrests were made as part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing drive to strengthen law and order in the state, as directed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The arrested accused have been identified as Baltej Singh alias Bunty, a resident of village Tehna in Faridkot district, and Mangat Singh alias Max, a resident of Jalalabad in Fazilka district. Police have recovered a black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle and a white Honda Amaze car, both allegedly used during the execution and escape phases of the crime.
According to the police, Gurvinder Singh was shot dead on January 28, 2026, near his parked vehicle outside the District Courts Complex in Mohali. The complaint was lodged by his wife, Amardeep Kaur, who had expressed suspicion regarding threats allegedly issued to her husband by foreign-based gangster Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar.
SSP Harmandeep Hans said CCTV footage analysis revealed that the attackers arrived at the scene on a motorcycle, carried out the shooting, and later changed clothes before fleeing in a car. Based on a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, investigators found that the murder was allegedly masterminded by Goldy Brar in collusion with his associates Vicky Singh alias Vicky Sattewala and Ravi Kumar alias Ravi Faridkotia, both currently based abroad.
Following disclosures made by the arrested accused, police teams successfully traced and seized the vehicles used in the crime. The SSP said investigations are continuing to identify and apprehend other associates involved in the conspiracy.
A case has already been registered under FIR No. 23 dated January 28, 2026, at Police Station Sohana, SAS Nagar, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
Police officials reiterated that no individual involved in organised crime would be spared and that the state remains committed to ensuring public safety and justice.
