Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta announced that district-level events will be held on May 11, 2026 to mark the anniversary of the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple. A grand district-level event will be held on this day at the historic Shiva Temple in Kiloi village. Dr. Arvind Sharma, the state’s Minister for Cooperation, Prisons, Elections, Heritage, and Tourism, will be the chief guest at this district-level event.
Sachin Gupta was interacting with representatives of religious organizations in the auditorium located at the local Mini Secretariat. He called upon the representatives of religious organizations to also hold celebrationsin all the temples of the district and to ensure the temples are cleaned and decorated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver his message virtually from the Somnath Temple at the district-level program. He said that arrangements should be made for the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address in other temples of the district as well.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that during the district-level event, women will take out a Kalash Yatra, which will also be attended by saints and sages. An exhibition on historical events related to the Somnath Temple will be organized by the Information, Public Relations and Language Department at the venue. Cultural programs will also be presented during this event. The district administration is making all necessary arrangements for this event, and all basic facilities will be made available at the district-level event. Representatives of other religious organizations, including BK Raksha Behan and Seema Behan, Pritam Bhayana, Subhash Tayal, Gulshan Nijhawan, were present at the meeting.
