Haryana Strengthens Economic Ties With Japan

CM Nayab Singh Saini Meets Mizuho Bank MD in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, January 9

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met a delegation led by Managing Director and India Head of Japan’s Mizuho Bank, Ryo Murao, at the Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh. The meeting aimed to enhance economic cooperation and explore new opportunities for strategic investments in the state.

During the discussions, the Japanese delegation expressed deep interest in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Haryana Foreign Cooperation Department. Key sectors identified for collaboration include automobile manufacturing, education, financial services, and the semiconductor industry — a rapidly emerging sector of global and national significance.

Highlighting confidence in Haryana’s investor-friendly ecosystem, the delegation informed the Chief Minister that Mizuho Bank has shifted its office from Delhi to Gurugram, impressed by the state’s progressive policies and strong Ease of Doing Business framework. They sought the state government’s continued support to further strengthen their operational and investment base in Haryana.

Assuring full cooperation, Chief Minister Saini said the government is committed to creating a stable and transparent environment for investors, supported by modern infrastructure, skilled human resources, and proactive governance. He said Haryana’s strategic location, industrial reforms, and responsive administrative systems have made it a preferred destination for global firms, particularly those in technology-driven sectors.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented a copy of the Bhagavad Gita to Ryo Murao, highlighting its eternal message of duty, ethics, and balanced decision-making.

The Department of Foreign Cooperation, Government of Haryana, is dedicated to fostering international partnerships, managing bilateral and multilateral relations, and supporting the Haryanvi diaspora under the state’s “Go Global Approach.” Advisor to the Chief Minister for the Foreign Cooperation Department, Pawan Kumar Choudhary, along with senior officials, was also present at the meeting.
