Minister Gaurav Gautam Says ITIs Recorded 85% Seat Utilisation and Large-Scale Apprenticeships Across the State

Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Sh. Gaurav Gautam, said that the Directorate of Skill Development and Industrial Training (SDIT) is promoting and implementing industrial vocational training across the state in a planned and coordinated manner, aligned with national and state policies.
Presently, there are 197 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Haryana, collectively offering around 85,000 sanctioned seats under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS).The Minister shared this information while replying to a Calling Attention Motion on the opening day of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha session held in Chandigarh.
He informed that the department has 4,841 sanctioned instructor posts, out of which 3,458 are currently filled, leaving a shortfall of 1,383 instructors. To address this gap, the department has already sent a requisition for the recruitment of 609 instructors to the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC). During the 2024–25 academic session, a total of 64,808 seats were offered for admissions in 196 government ITIs (including 189 government and 7 government-aided institutions).
Of these, 55,027 trainees enrolled, achieving an 85 percent seat utilization rate. Similarly, 18,040 seats were available in 186 private ITIs, with 14,405 trainees admitted, marking an 80 percent utilization rate.
Highlighting the department’s focus on employability, Sh. Gautam stated that 1,239 job fairs and campus placement drives were organized across government ITIs, resulting in placements and apprenticeships for 29,761 trainees. This includes 22,415 apprentices and 7,346 workers securing employment opportunities through these initiatives.
