PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Pekhubela, Una, has brought laurels to the district and Himachal Pradesh by securing first position at the national level in the Model Youth Gram Sabha Competition under the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya category.
The prestigious award was presented during a national समारोह held on Wednesday at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The school team received the honour from Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel. As part of the award, the institution was presented with a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore, along with a certificate of appreciation and a memento.
The award was received by the school principal Raj Singh, along with participating students. Members of the teaching faculty, including Sunita Chaudhary, Amit Kumar and Dharmendra Kumar, were also present on the occasion. District Panchayat Officer Una, Shravan Kumar, accompanied the delegation during the award ceremony.
The Model Youth Gram Sabha Competition was organised by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, with the objective of promoting youth participation in democratic and governance processes at the grassroots level.
Congratulating the school on this achievement, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri termed it a proud moment for the state and the district. Deputy Commissioner Una, Jatin Lal, also lauded the efforts of the school management, teachers and students for their exemplary performance at the national platform
