HSPCB Chairman Inspects Drain No. 6 Under Yamuna Action Plan, Issues Directions for Pollution Control

Chairman of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB), Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS inspected Drain No. 6 falling under Sonipat jurisdiction as part of the Yamuna Action Plan and reviewed the pollution situation at various points of the drain. During the inspection, he issued necessary directions to the concerned officials for effective pollution control and speedy completion of pending works.


The Chairman first visited village Bhora Rasulpur, the entry point of Drain No. 6 from the Panipat side, and reviewed the pollution status in the drain. He directed the concerned officials of Panipat district to ensure comprehensive and effective measures for pollution control. Later, he inspected the common outlet of CETP Baddi at village Bhogipur, where treated water is discharged into the drain. He instructed the HSIIDC department head to ensure continuous and strict monitoring of the quality of water being released from CETP Baddi and to take collective measures wherever required.


During the visit, Vinay Pratap Singh also inspected the common siphon point of Drain No. 6 and DD-8 and directed the Irrigation Department to expedite the pending work related to covering Drain No. 6. The Chairman further inspected the confluence point of the highly polluting Bakaner Drain flowing from Delhi with Drain No. 6 and later visited the final outlet point of Drain No. 6 at the Delhi-Narela border.


He directed district-level heads of all departments associated with the implementation of the Yamuna Action Plan to personally coordinate with their competent authorities to ensure tapping of untreated water discharge points at Drain No. 6 and obtain pending administrative approvals at the headquarters level for STP and CETP construction works. Senior officers present during the inspection included CJM DLSA Pracheta Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harshit Kumar, SEE Kuldeep Singh, SE Irrigation Department Manjeet Hooda, Regional Officer of Pollution Control Board Sonipat Ajay Singh and other officials.
