Rohtak, May 21

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Sachin Gupta has directed officials to conduct the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign of the electoral roll seriously and strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana.

He was addressing a meeting of officials at the Mini Secretariat auditorium after Chief Electoral Officer A. Srinivasan issued guidelines through video conferencing.
Sachin Gupta said that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process will be carried out across Haryana from June 15 to July 14, 2026. He said the main objective of the campaign is to make the voter list error-free by removing the names of deceased, shifted and duplicate voters and ensuring a correct record of genuine voters.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the District Call Center (1950) has been activated for the convenience of voters. Citizens can contact the helpline to seek information and assistance related to the voter list.

He instructed all concerned officials to complete election-related arrangements on time and ensure strict compliance with the Election Commission’s guidelines. Referring to Article 326 of the Constitution, Sachin Gupta said that only Indian citizens are eligible to get enrolled in the voter list. He added that it is the responsibility of the Commission to ensure that no ineligible person is included and no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll.

Sachin Gupta further said that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door verification of voters and check the required documents during the campaign. As per the Commission’s guidelines, no voter’s name will be removed from the draft voter list without proper investigation and providing an opportunity for hearing.
He added that if any person is dissatisfied with the decision of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), an appeal can be made before the District Magistrate and subsequently before the Chief Electoral Officer. Citizens who have migrated from outside the state will also have to submit an additional declaration along with Form-6 for voter registration.

During the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer A. Srinivasan also reviewed the availability of EROs, AEROs, Additional AEROs, BLO Supervisors and BLOs appointed for election work, along with the status of vacant posts. Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar, Sampla SDM Ankita Puwar, Rohtak SDM Ashish Kumar, Election Tehsildar Sarla and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.
