Punjab Chief Minister to Pay Homage at Nirmal Kuteya Seechewal Today

Seechewal/Sultanpur Lodhi, May 27

A grand poets’ gathering (Kavi Darbar) was organized on the occasion of the 38th annual barsi smagam of Shri Sant Avtar Singh Ji, where renowned poets presented their original literary compositions. Through their poetry, the speakers highlighted how Sant Avtar Singh Ji spiritually connected the region with Gurbani and inspired people towards selfless service.

Following the path shown by Sant Avtar Singh Ji, environmentalist and Rajya Sabha Member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has made remarkable contributions in the fields of education, sports, and environmental conservation. In particular, his efforts in cleaning the holy Kali Bein associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji have brought international recognition to Seechewal and Sultanpur Lodhi.

While honouring the participating poets, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal expressed concern over the rapidly changing global climate conditions affecting the entire world. He stated that Sikhism is the only religion that universally advocates the welfare of all humanity through the message of “Sarbat da Bhala.”

He further explained that the impacts of global warming, climate change, and the El Niño phenomenon are becoming increasingly visible. During El Niño, the waters of the Pacific Ocean become warmer than usual, disrupting global wind patterns and causing extreme heat during periods when rainfall is normally expected. Such weather conditions, he said, are becoming difficult to endure.

Sant Seechewal urged people to remain cautious during excessive heat by drinking more water and avoiding unnecessary travel outdoors. He warned that changing climatic conditions pose a serious threat to the environment and human life. Poets who presented their works at the Kavi Darbar included Prof. Ram Murti, Sant Singh Sandhu, Mukhtiar Singh Chandi, Beeba Balwant, Dr. Satbir Singh Shant, Sukhjinder Kaur, Ladi Bhullar, Joginder Singh Umranangal, Hazara Singh Gill, Lali Kartarpuri, Dish Daburji, Surjit Sajan, Ladi Lahori, Gyan Singh Malsia, Baba Baldev Krishan Singh Ji, and others. Sant Sukhjit Singh Ji conducted the stage proceedings and concluded the event with his own original composition.
