Chandigarh, May 19
Haryana Cabinet, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini here today accorded approval to the revised cost of the Gurugram Metro project.
The Cabinet approved the revised project cost of Rs. 7,098.70 crore for the Gurugram Metro corridor from Millennium City Centre (MCC) to Cyber City. In addition, the Cabinet also approved the supplementary report amounting to Rs. 947.06 crore pertaining to the changed integration scenario with Rapid Metro, as well as the supplementary report amounting to Rs. 454.32 crore for the spur line from Sector-5 Metro Station to Gurugram Railway Station.
The Cabinet further approved a change in the project’s funding source, under which financial assistance will now be availed from the World Bank in place of the European Investment Bank (EIB). The State Government’s contribution of Rs. 2,415.79 crore towards the project was also approved.
The project will strengthen the metro network in Gurugram and ensure improved multi-modal connectivity between the Rapid Metro and Gurugram Railway Station.
