Minister Travels in Escort Vehicle, Appeals for Fuel Conservation Ahead of Maharana Pratap Jayanti Event
Kaithal, May 16
Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana on Saturday said that the state government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is committed to public service, nationalism and the welfare of farmers along with every section of society.
Addressing mediapersons during the inauguration of the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Training Maha Abhiyan at Surya Kund Teerth Mandir in Kaithal, the minister said the ongoing training camps across Haryana aim to spread awareness about government schemes among eligible beneficiaries through party workers.
Earlier, the minister inaugurated an exhibition set up at the venue by cutting the ribbon.
Rana said the government is implementing several welfare schemes for farmers, labourers, poor families and women to ensure their upliftment and self-reliance. He added that strengthening the spirit of nationalism and empowering the nation are also key objectives of the campaign.
Highlighting fuel conservation, the minister appealed to people to reduce the use of personal vehicles and prefer public transport, especially during the Maharana Pratap Jayanti celebrations to be held on May 17 at Shahzadpur in Ambala district.
Setting an example himself, Rana said he travelled to the event in an escort vehicle instead of his personal car and reduced the number of vehicles in his convoy to save fuel. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to conserve petrol and diesel amid global uncertainties and wars, the minister said the Haryana government is also working in the same direction.
On farmers’ welfare, Rana said the government is continuously introducing new schemes to enhance farmers’ income. He stated that Minimum Support Price (MSP) is declared before sowing and payments are transferred directly into farmers’ bank accounts through online systems.
The minister also said he has been assigned responsibility for the District Grievance Redressal Committees of Kaithal and Karnal districts and assured that he would discharge the responsibility sincerely. BJP District President Jyoti Saini informed that the five-day training camp will educate workers about government schemes so they can spread awareness among the public. Several BJP leaders and local representatives were present during the programme.
