Chardi Kala Rally of Misl Satluj at Fatehgarh Palace, Kurali not allowed

Protest rally as large number of constituents from Kharar constituency block Kurali–Siswan road

Punjabis should unite for Punjab’s rights”: Ajaypal Singh Brar

Kurali May 3,2026:

The “Chardi Kala Rally” announced by Misl Satluj, which was scheduled to be held at Fatehgarh Palace in Kurali, was not allowed to take place at the venue. Misl Satluj President Ajaypal Singh Brar stated that the Punjab government, through the police, prevented the rally from being held at Fatehgarh Palace.

**He said that a large number of Misl Satluj members and supporters from the Kharar constituency had arrived to participate in the rally. In response to the situation, members and supporters staged a protest by blocking the Kurali–Siswan road and holding a demonstration.

The Misl Satluj organization strongly condemned this action. Later, a roadshow was carried out from the Kurali–Siswan road to Mullanpur.

On this occasion, a pledge was repeated to unite and make Punjab the number one state again. During an emotional address, Misl Satluj President Ajaypal Singh Brar appealed to Punjabis to come forward for the fight for their rights and contribute to rebuilding a ‘Chardi Kala Punjab’ (ever-rising, resilient Punjab). He said that Punjab today stands at a sensitive turning point where both hope and pain are clearly visible.

He stated that Punjab, once known for its golden fertile land, is now surrounded by economic, social, and cultural crisis. Increasing migration of youth, the agrarian crisis, and the exodus of industries are weakening the backbone and economy of the state. He expressed sorrow that mothers in Punjab have tears in their eyes and village courtyards have become deserted.

Brar criticized the central government, alleging that the spirit of federalism is being ignored and the rights of states are being weakened. He described issues like water disputes, pending GST dues, and the withholding of rural development funds as major injustices against Punjab. He asserted that the historical spirit of Punjabis will never bow before oppression.

Calling the slogan of a ‘double engine government’ an illusion, he said it is a political tactic that undermines state autonomy. He cited examples of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Odisha, saying that true development depends on sincere intent and people-centric policies.

Expressing concern over Punjab’s economic condition, he said the state is burdened with heavy debt and every newborn is under the debtburden. He added that the closure of industries and the growing influence of mafia elements have seriously damaged the state’s economy.

He also raised concerns about the deteriorating conditions in education, healthcare, and employment, stating that youth are disheartened due to unemployment and the healthcare system is struggling. He described this situation as a “drain of Punjab’s soul.”

At the same time, he proposed solutions including establishing agriculture-based industries, promoting small and medium enterprises, curbing corruption, and launching skill development programs for youth. He said these efforts could put Punjab back on the path of progress and reconnect youth with their roots.

Calling upon Punjabis to become aware and unite, he said this is the time for a decisive struggle to protect their rights. Quoting poet Surjit Patar, he said Punjab can bloom again if people move forward with unity and courage. The road blockade echoed with slogans of “Bole So Nihal… Sat Sri Akal!”, creating a renewed sense of hope and enthusiasm among those present.
