SHIMLA, India | 16 Feb— In a landmark move to redefine adventure tourism in the Himalayas, the Himachal Pradesh government has officially sanctioned the Naddi Zipline Project. Spanning a massive 4.3 kilometres, the initiative is set to become the longest zipline in Asia, positioning the Dhauladhar valley as a global hub for thrill-seekers.
The Naddi Zipline Project: Technical Scope and Route
The proposed Naddi Zipline Project, estimated at an investment of ₹7.41 crore, will traverse some of the most dramatic landscapes in Northern India. According to state officials, the project will feature a four-station network designed to maximize the tourist experience while ensuring world-class safety standards.
The route begins at Gallu, passes through Ball village and the Naddi viewpoint, before concluding at Maggie Point Khad. By connecting these scenic hubs, the zipline offers a seamless aerial corridor through the heart of the Dhauladhar range.

Economic Impact of the Naddi Zipline Project
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who has designated Kangra as the state’s “Tourism Capital,” emphasized that the Naddi Zipline Project is more than just an adventure attraction.
“The State Government is committed to strengthening tourism infrastructure,” the Chief Minister stated. “The Naddi Zipline Project will significantly enhance the local economy, attract international adventure enthusiasts, and generate sustainable employment opportunities for the youth of Kangra.”
Timeline and Implementation of the Naddi Zipline Project
The state has set a rigorous 36-month timeline for the completion of the Naddi Zipline Project. Managed by the Ropeway and Rapid Transport Development Corporation (RTDC), the construction will focus on eco-friendly practices to preserve the pristine environment of the Naddi View Point.
Once operational, the project is expected to be a primary driver for the region’s “Tourism Capital” initiative, offering a unique bird’s-eye perspective of the snow-capped Dhauladhar peaks that was previously inaccessible to the average traveler.
