Shimla, April 25
A high-level review meeting was held here today under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta to assess the preparedness for the forthcoming visit of the President Droupadi Murmu, scheduled from April 27 to May 2, 2026.
The meeting was convened to review the status and action taken on the decisions of the previous meeting held on April 18, 2026. Detailed discussions were held on various aspects to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the visit.
Key agenda items included comprehensive security arrangements, issuance and regulation of security passes, traffic management, coordination of press coverage and other related matters during the visit. The preparedness for the President’s proposed visits to Kangra, Shimla and Lahaul & Spiti districts was also reviewed in detail.
The Chief Secretary emphasized the need for seamless coordination among all departments and agencies, strict adherence to security protocols and timely execution of all arrangements. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that all necessary measures are put in place to facilitate a smooth, secure, and well-coordinated visit.
Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari, Secretary (GAD) Aashish Singhmar, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh along with senior officers of the State Police and other departments and representatives of the Army. Deputy Commissioners of Kangra, Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti districts participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
