Visits electric vehicle laboratory and reviews innovative mobility solutions for divyangjan

Governor Kavinder Gupta inaugurated the International Conference on ‘Vision 2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat 2.0’ at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, organized in collaboration with the Swadeshi Shodh Sansthan.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor delivered a comprehensive address emphasizing India’s remarkable growth trajectory and the importance of integrated policy frameworks, innovation and collaborative efforts among institutions to achieve the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant nation by 2047.
During his visit to the campus, the Governor toured the Electric Vehicle (EV) Laboratory at IIT Roorkee, where he inspected advanced equipment and ongoing research facilities related to electric mobility and sustainable transportation technologies. He appreciated the efforts of researchers and students working towards environmentally friendly and technologically advanced mobility solutions.
On the occasion, the Governor was presented with an innovative ‘Accessible Mobility Vehicle for Divyangjan,’ developed by Yali Mobility in collaboration with the AARTI Foundation, Ministry of Heavy Industries and the International Centre for Automotive Technology. The vehicle reflects inclusive design and technological innovation aimed at enhancing mobility solutions for persons with disabilities. The Governor commended the initiative, stating that such innovations play a crucial role in promoting accessibility, sustainability and social inclusion.
Minister of Health and Family Welfare J. P. Nadda virtually addressed the conference.
Prof. K. K. Pant, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, welcomed the Governor and highlighted the significance of collaboration between academia, governance and industry in shaping a self-reliant and prosperous India by 2047.
Executive Chairperson of the conference Prof. Somnath Sachdeva delivered the thematic introduction outlining the importance of innovation, policy reforms and sustainable development in achieving national growth.
The event featured several impactful addresses, including a virtual address by Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh and a keynote address by Satish Kumar from the Swadeshi Jagran Manch. Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Express News Network Upendra Rai, Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University Prof. Ajit Chaturvedi and K. N. Raghunandan also shared their perspectives on nation-building and the role of higher education in national development.
Over 100 institutions across India and abroad participated in the conference and presented their views on themes aligned with the Vision 2047 agenda, including inclusive economic growth, technological innovation, employment generation and sustainable development.
Deputy Director, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee Prof. U. P. Singh, Director of Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur Prof. N. P. Padhy, Vice Chancellor of Doon University Prof. Surekha Dangwal and other eminent academicians, policymakers and industry leaders were gathered on the occasion to deliberate on India’s developmental roadmap towards becoming a developed nation by 2047
