Havildar Sanjeev Kumar of Drag Cremated With Military Honours

Havildar Sanjeev Kumar, aged 40, a resident of Drag (Dandhera) village under Baijnath Subdivision, passed away on December 7 due to illness. On Tuesday, his mortal remains reached his native village, where he was laid to rest with full military honours.

Baijnath MLA Kishori Lal was present on the occasion. He paid floral tributes to Havildar Sanjeev Kumar and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. TMLA assured the family of all possible assistance during this difficult time and said that brave soldiers like Havildar Sanjeev Kumar are the pride of the nation. His sacrifice and dedication to the defence of the country will always be inscribed in golden letters in history. Society and future generations will always remember his supreme sacrifice with pride.

Assuring the grieving family of complete administrative support, the MLA said that all necessary formalities will be completed on a priority basis to ensure that the family faces no difficulties. He further stated that the state government remains committed to honouring and assisting ex-servicemen and families of martyrs and will continue to extend every possible support to the family.

Havildar Sanjeev Kumar was serving in the 13 Dogra Unit of the Indian Army in Karnataka and had completed a distinguished and honourable 21-year tenure in the service of the nation. His devotion, sense of duty, and spirit of service will always be remembered. His untimely demise has cast a deep pall of sorrow over the entire region. He is survived by his wife, an 8-year-old son, and a 5-year-old son.
