Children benefiting under the PM CARES for Children Scheme met Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh at her office on Thursday and shared their experiences while expressing gratitude for the support and facilities being extended to them by the government.
During the interaction, the DC enquired about the children’s education, health and future aspirations. Encouraging them to pursue their dreams with determination and confidence, she assured them that the district administration remains committed to supporting their overall development and helping them build a bright future.
Addressing the children, Neha Singh said that the PM CARES for Children Scheme, launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has emerged as a significant support system for children who lost their parents or guardians during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said the scheme provides educational support, healthcare benefits, financial assistance, and other essential services to ensure that affected children are able to lead secure and dignified lives. “The objective is to provide a safe environment and equal opportunities to these children so that they can become self-reliant and empowered citizens,” she said.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that the district administration is continuously working to ensure that beneficiaries receive quality education, healthcare services, and the benefits of various welfare schemes in a timely manner. She also motivated the children to maintain a positive outlook, work hard towards their goals, and carve out a distinct identity for themselves in society. Highlighting the importance of perseverance, she said that even in the face of adversity, strong determination and dedicated efforts can help individuals achieve remarkable success. District Child Protection Officer Ritu Gill was also present during the meeting.
