A group of students from the B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics programme at Chandigarh University today completed a six-week Internship-cum-Training Programme at Amrit Deol Fitness and Nutrition. This marked a milestone in their academic and professional competence in the field of nutrition.
The programme was designed to provide students with a mix of theoretical and practical exposure, enabling them to understand the real-world application of nutrition science. Throughout the six weeks, participants received training on the Gastrointestinal System, Circulatory System, Respiratory System, Neurological System, along with Theoretical Analysis and Diet Planning. The curriculum focused on understanding of human physiology while developing evidence-based nutritional planning skills.
The internship offered students insights into clinical nutrition and lifestyle management. They gained an understanding of medical concepts, learned effective diet formulation strategies, and were trained in client interaction, counseling techniques, and enrollment methodology. The programme also emphasized the development of practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge, preparing students to confidently meet the demands of the nutrition and wellness industry.
The internship was organized under Amrit Deol, the Founder of Amrit Deol Fitness and Nutrition, in the role of a Lead Organizer. The students were guided by an experienced team of trainers and mentors. Through their expert mentorship, students received practical demonstrations, and a deeper understanding of medical and nutritional concepts, helping them build professional competence. Those who completed their internship include students from foreign countries who are undergoing B.Sc.nutrition and dietetics courses at Chandigarh University.
Speaking on the occasion, Amrit Deol congratulated the students and said: “Practical exposure, coupled with a strong academic foundation, is essential for aspiring nutrition professionals”. He adds that the knowledge and skills acquired during the internship would help the students make meaningful contributions to the fields of clinical nutrition and wellness, preventive healthcare.
