People should cooperate in house listing work and provide correct and accurate information

Kaithal, May 13

Deputy Commissioner Aparajita said that under the first phase of Census 2027, the work of house listing and housing census is progressing rapidly in the district. This campaign will be completed by May 30. She appealed public to cooperate in this national exercise by providing correct and accurate information to the enumerators visiting door to door.

DC clarified that during the census process, enumerators will not ask any citizen for OTPs, bank-related information, or any kind of documents. She urged people not to believe any rumours or misleading information. She said that in this phase, details regarding the condition of houses, basic family information, available basic amenities, and other necessary information are being recorded online through a mobile app. The collected information will first go to the supervisor for verification, after which it will also be checked by the Charge Officer.

The DC informed that 1,852 enumerators have been deployed in the district for this work, while 306 supervisors have been appointed for monitoring. Each supervisor is overseeing the work of six enumerators. She directed all officers and employees to complete the work within the stipulated time frame with complete transparency and responsibility.

DC Aparajita said that all data collected during the census will be kept completely confidential and will be used only for framing government schemes and public welfare policies. She appealed to house owners and tenants to provide correct and complete information so that future schemes can be formulated on the basis of actual data. She informed that the second phase of Census 2027 will begin in February next year, during which population enumeration will be carried out in the district.
