Bilaspur District Tops in HP e-Office System

Bilaspur, January 19

The district Bilaspur has achieved a significant milestone by securing the first position at the state level in the effective implementation of the HP e-Office system, introduced by the Himachal Pradesh government to ensure paperless and digital workflows in offices. This system is based on the e-Office product suite developed by the National Informatics Centre, with the objective of strengthening transparency, efficiency, and accountability in government operations.

Through the HP e-Office, the traditional paper-based file system has been replaced with an electronic arrangement, resulting not only in savings of time and cost but also in meaningful contributions toward environmental conservation. Under the e-file system, the creation, diarization, tracking and record management of files are being conducted entirely through digital means, making the decision-making process faster and more effective. Secure web-based access also provides officials with the facility to work from anywhere.

The usage of the e-Office system by Deputy Commissioners’ offices in various districts across the state was evaluated, in which Bilaspur district secured the first position with 12,887 e-files.

In this ranking, Chamba district came second and Mandi district third. Leaving behind larger districts like Shimla, Solan, and Kangra in this list, Bilaspur’s top position reflects the commitment of the district administration and the work efficiency of its officials and employees.

On this achievement, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar congratulated all officials and employees of the district administration and said that the result of adopting the e-Office system with full dedication and responsibility is visible today at the state level. He expressed confidence that in the coming times, the district administration will continue to deliver transparent, prompt, and responsive services to the general public by maintaining excellent performance in the field of digital governance in the same manner.

Deputy Commissioner also stated that initiatives like e-Office form the foundation of positive change in the governance system, improving not only the work culture but also strengthening public trust in the administration.
