Harmeet Singh Kalka, President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, today alleged that over past years the Sarna brothers, during their tenure in Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee duo have opposed to the interests of the Sikh nation.
Speaking to media persons, Kalka alleged that during their tenure the Sarna brothers did brokerage for Congress, biased protection of its thug elements and attempted to make the nation forget the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
He said that about four years ago, when the new structure of the DSGMC was being formed, pressure was exerted by the Shiromani Akali Dal to join hands with the Sarna brothers. He stated that the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee team stood firm on Panthic principles and chose its own distinct and clear path.
He said that today “the cat is out of the bag” and it has become completely clear what real intention of Sukhbir Singh Badal was. The motive behind including the Sarna brothers in Badal’s group was to form a secret alliance with Congress. Under this conspiracy, Harvinder Singh Sarna was assigned a brokerage role, which has now been exposed.
Kalka alleged that yesterday, Harvinder Singh Sarna and his son, went to meet Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. He added that the main objective of this meeting was to bag tickets and political alliances for the upcoming assembly elections. Later, this meeting was linked to the DSGMC through misleading statements, which are entirely baseless.
He said that those who have been calling themselves great Panthic leaders are today ignoring the supreme seat of the Panth, Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and going to Rahul Gandhi’s court to engage in bargaining. This is not just an insult to DSGMC, but to the entire Sikh nation, he said.
Kalka said that Congress party attacked Sri Akal Takht Sahib, fired bullets and cannons at Harmandir Sahib and carried out Sikh genocide in Delhi. Any kind alliance with that same party today is the biggest misfortune. He stated that pushing the Akali Dal down this path by the Sarna brothers is equivalent to betrayal of the martyrs’ sacrifices.
Making an appeal to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib through the media, he said that Harvinder Singh Sarna should be summoned again and questioned about what deals were made with Rahul Gandhi, which issues of the Panth were sold and what political bargaining was done in the name of which Bandi Singhs.
Harmeet Singh Kalka said that Delhi’s Sikh sangat will never accept this politics of Sarna brothers. Bargaining for seats for their children by taking votes in the name of the nation will no longer be tolerated. He announced that a written demand letter for strict Panthic action against Harvinder Singh Sarna and Paramjit Singh Sarna will also be sent to the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib soon.
