Eligible candidates can apply till July 31, 2026

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that the Haryana Council for Science, Innovation and Technology has invited nominations for the Haryana Science Ratna Award and Haryana Youth Science Ratna Award to honour scientists who have made outstanding contributions in the field of science and technology. Eligible persons can submit their nominations till July 31, 2026.
He said that under the awards announced for the year 2026, the Haryana Science Ratna Award carries a cash prize of ₹5 lakh along with a citation and trophy. The award is meant for distinguished scientists above 40 years of age who have made significant contributions in science and technology. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta further stated that under the Haryana Youth Science Ratna Award, young scientists below 40 years of age will be honoured with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, along with a citation and trophy. The award has been instituted to encourage young talent and promote scientific temper in the state. Through these awards, the Haryana government aims to recognize individuals who have achieved remarkable work in science and innovation and inspire a new generation towards research and technological advancement.
Eligibility for Awards
Sachin Gupta said that only scientists who have worked or studied in Haryana for 10 years or more, or are residents of Haryana, will be eligible for these awards. He informed that nominations for the Haryana Youth Science Ratna Award will be considered as per the age limit up to December 31, 2026. He clarified that only fresh nominations will be accepted and self-nominations will not be entertained under any circumstances. Deputy Commissioner appealed to interested candidates and institutions to visit the Council’s official website, http://dst.highereduhry.ac.in, for detailed guidelines and ensure that nominations are sent to the Council’s office by July 31, 2026.
