SDMs Directed To Check Medical Stores, Take Strict Action if CCTV Cameras Not Found, DC

*-To make the district drug-free, all the concerned departments should jointly take strict action against those involved in illegal drug trade*
*- All SDMs should inspect de-addiction centres and take action against centres that do not follow the rules*
*-Awareness programs should be conducted in all educational institutions to make children aware about drug abuse*

To ensure effective monitoring of the sale of narcotic drugs at medical stores, Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh directed all SDMs to regularly inspect medical stores in their areas and ensure CCTV cameras are installed at each store. She said strict legal action should be taken against medical stores that do not have cameras or violate regulations.


Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh, while presiding over the NCORD meeting held at the Mini Secretariat on Wednesday, issued directives to officials. The Deputy Commissioner said that to make the district drug-free, all relevant departments should work in coordination and take strict action against those involved in the illegal drug trade. She said that the campaign against drug abuse should be made more effective and that any negligence in this direction will not be tolerated.


She directed all SDMs to regularly inspect de-addiction centers operating in their areas and ensure that all centers adhere to prescribed rules and standards. He clarified that strict action should be taken against centers found violating these rules, as per the rules, so that the quality of de-addiction services is maintained and those in need can receive proper treatment.


The Deputy Commissioner directed to organize extensive awareness programs in all educational institutions to make children and youth aware of the ill effects of drug abuse. He said that special campaigns should be run in schools and colleges to inform students about the physical, mental and social harm caused by drug abuse, so that they can stay away from this evil. While reviewing the identified crimes in the meeting, he directed that the pending cases should be strongly advocated in the court. It is the priority of the administration to ensure strict punishment to the culprits in every case through solid evidence, timely action and effective presentation.


DCP Kushal Singh, Jail Superintendent Rajendra Singh, SDM Sonipat Subhash Chandra, SDM Gannaur Pravesh Kadian, SDM Kharkhoda Amit, SDM Gohana Ankit, City Magistrate Simran, ACP Rajpal and District Education Officer Naveen Gulia along with other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
